01 / 06 · SHAPE & NAME

네 자음의 모양과 이름을 만나요.

한글을 처음 배워도 괜찮아요. 오늘은 이 자음 네 개부터 시작해요.No prior Korean is needed. Start with these four consonants.

ㄱ기역

위쪽 가로선에서 오른쪽 아래로 꺾여요.Across the top, then down on the right.

ㄴ니은

왼쪽 세로선에서 오른쪽으로 꺾여요.Down on the left, then across the bottom.

ㄷ디귿

위·왼쪽·아래에 선이 있고, 오른쪽은 열려 있어요.Top, left and bottom lines. The right side is open.

ㄹ리을

위·가운데·아래, 가로선이 세 줄 있어요.Three horizontal lines: top, middle and bottom.

‘기역’은 이름이에요.

ㄱ의 이름은 기역이에요. 실제 글자는 모음과 모아서 읽어요. 뒤에서 ㄱ + ㅏ를 모아 ‘가’로 읽어볼 거예요.기역 is the name of ㄱ. To read a syllable, combine the consonant with a vowel. Soon you will build and read 가.

ㄱ ↔ ㄴ

ㄱ은 위·오른쪽, ㄴ은 왼쪽·아래의 모양을 비교해요.Compare top/right in ㄱ with left/bottom in ㄴ.

ㄷ ↔ ㄹ

ㄷ은 가로선 두 줄, ㄹ은 가로선 세 줄을 찾아요.Find two horizontal lines in ㄷ and three in ㄹ.

잠깐 확인 · ‘니은’을 손으로 찾아보세요. Point to 니은, then check.

ㄴ이 니은이에요. 왼쪽 세로선과 아래 가로선을 확인해요.ㄴ is 니은. Look for the left and bottom lines.

02 / 06 · WRITE

한 획씩, 순서대로 써요.

번호가 쓰는 순서예요. 한 획은 펜을 떼지 않고 이어 씁니다. 획이 끝나면 펜을 떼고 다음 번호에서 시작해요.Numbers show stroke order. Keep the pen down within one stroke. Lift it before the next stroke.

보기 → 따라 쓰기 → 가리고 쓰기Watch → trace → cover the model and write from memory.

종이에 네 칸을 만들고 ㄱ·ㄴ·ㄷ·ㄹ을 각각 두 번 써보세요.On paper, draw four boxes and write each consonant twice.

  • 선이 꺾이는 방향이 같나요?Do the lines turn in the same direction?
  • ㄷ은 2획, ㄹ은 3획으로 썼나요?Did you use two strokes for ㄷ and three for ㄹ?
  • 본보기를 가려도 네 글자를 구별할 수 있나요?Can you tell the four letters apart with the models covered?

ㅏ를 만나, 한 글자를 만들어요.

자음을 읽는 연습에 필요한 모음 ㅏ 하나를 먼저 배워요. 다른 모음은 뒤 수업에서 차례로 배웁니다.First learn one vowel, ㅏ, so you can read syllables. More vowels come in later lessons.

ㅏ 아

긴 세로선 오른쪽에 짧은 선 하나가 있어요.One short stroke points right from the long vertical line.

① 긴 선을 위에서 아래로, ② 짧은 선을 오른쪽으로 써요. 입을 자연스럽게 벌리고 소리를 들어 따라 해보세요.① Down the long line, ② right along the short line. Open your mouth naturally; listen and repeat.

왼쪽 자음 + 오른쪽 ㅏ = 한 칸

오늘 배운 네 자음은 왼쪽에, ㅏ는 오른쪽에 모아요. 두 조각을 따로 늘어놓지 않고 한 글자 칸 안에 씁니다.Put the consonant on the left and ㅏ on the right, together in one syllable block.

가를 ‘기역아’로 읽지 않아요.Read 가 as one syllable, not as the two letter names.

가·나·다·라의 첫소리를 비교하며 따라 말해보세요. 특히 라는 영어 R이나 L로 바꾸어 외우기보다 한국어 소리를 듣고 연습해요.Compare the beginning sounds of 가, 나, 다 and 라. For 라, listen to Korean rather than treating English R or L as an exact match.

순서를 바꾸어도 읽을 수 있어요.

먼저 한 글자씩, 그다음 순서를 바꾸어 읽어요.Read single blocks first, then read them in a different order.

위 줄은 낱말 뜻을 외우는 문제가 아니라 글자를 읽는 연습입니다. 한 칸씩 왼쪽부터 읽어요.These are reading sequences, not vocabulary lists. Read each block from left to right.
