Learn the expressions

Put the reason first and link it to the result with -아/어서. Keep the causal direction. Start with these four forms.

Base form	Reason form	Example
오다	와서	비가 와서 공원에 안 갔어요.
없다	없어서	시간이 없어서 약속을 취소했어요.
바쁘다	바빠서	바빠서 모임에 못 갔어요.
일하다	일해서	늦게까지 일해서 약속에 늦었어요.

For past events, the final 늦었어요 or 취소했어요 marks the past in these examples. Use 시간이 없어서 약속을 취소했어요 here. Background followed by a request is taught separately in B2-09.
