Learn the expressions
Read the group size and reference periods first. In this source, “earlier” means 2023 and “recent” means 2025; do not replace them with today’s dates.

Use 늘었어요 or 줄었어요 to connect earlier and later values. “Fourteen people” gives one value; “increased from five to fourteen” describes change. Do not extend the claim to people outside the table.
